Mangaluru, Mar 2: Raviraj Hegde has resigned as the president of Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers Union. He said in a release that he has resigned from the post voluntarily.
"During my tenure as the president of the union, I could take up several development initiatives because of the total support extended by the board of directors and staff. With their support, we could handle covid19-related problems efficiently. I have resigned as president with the satisfaction that this milk union has become a self-sufficient union in terms of milk production," he said.
The current board of directors has unexpired term of two more years. With Hegde's resignation, a new president will have to be elected. The milk union here covers both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. It is one of the leading milk unions in the state and therefore naturally there is curiosity who will succeed Raviraj Hegde as its president.
