Rakshit, a resident of Ivarnadu in Sullia taluk, is the accused who has been arrested.

Incident

Rakshit had one day called the victim girl on her hostel phone. When the warden of the hostel picked up the phone, the accused introduced himself as the elder brother of the victim. Rakshit spoke to the victim girl over the phone and compelled her to meet him outside the gate of the hostel and threatened to kill her if she did not oblige.

The girl who was scared by the threat allegedly met Rakshit at Beeramale Hills six days ago, where the accused is alleged to have sexually harassed her. In the complaint lodged by the parents of the girl, it is alleged that the girl escaped from the clutches of the accused.
