Mangaluru: Hijab-clad girl student heckled in college complains against ABVP boy

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru Mar 7: The hijab-clad student who was prevented from entering P Dayanada Pai first grade government college by a group of students at Car Street has urged stringent action against a student Sai Sandesh for allegedly harassing her.

Hibha Sheik, a second year student of BSc along with five other hijab clad students was denied entry by a group of students opposing them. It may be recalled that two groups of students from P Dayananda Pai and the P Satish Pai Government First Grade College in city had confronted each other over hijab issue afew days ago.

Addressing the media here on Monday March 7, Hibha Sheik said, "On March 3, we had an examination. We approached the principal seeking his permission to attend the examination. The principal gave a permission letter to the first year students, while also allowing us to write the examination. He also asked us to wear a shawl. The principal even guaranteed us that no issue would take place since he had given permission."

The Akila Bharatiya Vidhyarti Parishad (ABVP) student wing members were noticing us when we were about to enter the examination hall. A student among them by name Sai Sandesh threatened us to leave the classroom and go out of the college. He questioned us for writing the examination. The lecturers were just mute spectators when Sai Sandesh kept threatening us. Sai Sandesh even exerted pressure on the principal to send us out of the college. Here the principal took a U-turn and claimed that he had not given any kind of permission," alleged Hibha Sheik.

"Who gave him the right to tell us to go out of the college? We both are students having equal rights. He has no right to order us to leave the college. I'm not saying the principal was wrong but he should not have lied that he did not give permission," she added.

Hibha Sheik also said, "Some of my friends were being threatened by a policeman named Raghavendra who said he will spoil our future. Even the college peon was denying us permission to enter the canteen and we were not supposed to use water in the college campus. We were even termed as terrorists by the college peon."

"A day after filing the complaint, Sai Sandesh filed a complaint that he is being threatened by posting his objectionable photos on social media. I have no role in the threatening of Sai Sandesh> Unnecessarily, I have been blamed for threatening. I strongly condemn the threatening of Sai Sandesh on social media," Hibha said

"The police have taken oure complaint against Sai Sandesh but they have not mentioned the right sections relevant to the harassment case. Sai Sandesh's classmates Lohith and others are continuously threatening us through messages," alleged Hibha Sheik.

BJP government is all in favour of illegal/un unofficial so many right wing activists organizations like; BD, Senas ( Ram, Bhima, Shiv, ABVP etc.)and makes use of them in most social related activities. When we have a legitimate government why all these organaztions are permitted to interfere in the name of Hindutva and Hindu government. No where in the World such Jungle rule is allowed in peoples right/choice of affairs !

It is sure, they spoil their own life by dong nonsense. When the issue is in the law of court, why and how student interfere?. once gone in the police file, the life will be behind court and police. That time no one will be there to help them to come out of legal issues. When principal given written permission, that is enough evidence even though now he turndown. Dear Mangalore Police Commissioner, as per the news and press conf. one of the police name is surfacing up saying, he is "threatening" Students are may be pampered by some others but policeman?????

Sad and unfortunate, millions are fleeing a war, the world is on the brink of another war, students are returning home with broken dreams , ruined careers, many have died, the country is struggling with so many internal issues and our frogs in the well in the great DK district have nothing more to think of but wearing their Hijab. Disrespecting the constitution, the high court , the govt of the land and then we have leftist drumming this up for short term goals. At the end of it all the biggest losers will be these children with no future ready skills, no degree and no aspirations beyond wearing a gown or a scarf across their face. Ruining their own future and a chance at a better life beyond the penury they are in today doesn't seem to be a priority.

Dear friend... Why are you feeling so much of kujli for scarf Kindly read point no 10 on page 6 and 7 of interim order. It is restricted to class rooms only If you want to share the knowledge.... Share the correct information and not the wrong ones. Look at some college managements who closed the gates on the first day where not found on the second date. The educated goondas were hiding in the rat holes. They were made to swallow their own actions including Bhandarkars college.... Thanks

Why they are stopping the hijab students from school premises.... Pls read point no 10 on page 6 and 7 of court order... Let us not take law in our hands and prove ourselves as tadipars..

Recently Karnataka invoked UAPA against 10 in Bajrang Dal activist murder case. Similar tough sections should be applied to goondas who take pleasure in acting as law enforcement agents. Third class youth acting as protectors of culture. I wonder if the ever go home to eat with their family members.

It clearly says about the class rooms AND NOT ANY OTHER PLACES Why are you misleading the readers with your poor and BAD knowledge... You have no right to object the hijab during the press conference. Mind your own business... Thanks
