Bengaluru, Mar 12: Moodbidri legislator Umanath Kotian from the BJP lashed out at the functioning style of a minister belonging to his own party which is in power in the state.

"I went dozens of times to the minister to discuss development works in my constituency but he never has time to speak even a minute. He just sends me away each time, promising to look into the matter but not doing anything. Kotian asked the speaker how he can work effectively if the attitude of the minister is like this. "Forty posts have been sanctioned to Bajpe town panchayat. Only 18 staff including contract and outsourced ones, are working in the town panchayat. Work is not going ahead because of the absence of an engineer. The junior engineer deployed to the body comes only once a month. But the minister has no time to discuss these issues even for a minute," he complained.

Minister MTB Nagaraj, who immediately sprang to his feet, advised the MLA not to provide false information to the house by claiming to have visited him hundreds of times. He said that the MLA would have come to him only a couple of times. He clarified that when the legislators come to him, he always gives them respect and attends to their needs.
