Mangaluru: Women’s Day celebrations held at MCC Bank Ltd

Mangaluru, Mar 12: For the first time in the history of MCC Bank, Women’s Day was celebrated in recognition of their selfless service to the bank at the premises of the admin office on March 12.

The chief guest for the programme was Majorie Texeira, ex senior manager of Karnataka Bank Ltd and HDFC Bank. Women directors of the Bank Irene Rebello, Dr Freeda F D’souza, lady branch managers, Jacintha Serrao, Edna Noronha, Blanche Fernandes, Sunitha W D’souza, Ida Pinto, Jacintha Fernandes and Wilma Jyothi Sequeira were on the dais.

The programme began with a prayer song which was led by Pascal Maxim D’Souza and group. Chairman Anil Lobo welcomed the gathering. While congratulating all the lady staff on the occasion of women’s day, he emphasized the need for such celebration in the bank.

The function was symbolically inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the women present on the dais.

Majorie Texeira, speaking during the occasion, highlighted her relationship with MCC Bank Ltd, as her father was ex-director of the bank and that she is closely related to the bank. She encouraged the women staff to be a super woman. She also mentioned how a woman balances their household and work place. She opined that nowadays women play a crucial role in all the fields and they are not less than a man. They are gaining popularity and success because of their patience, hard work and sincerity.

Speaking during the occasion, director Dr Freeda F Dsouza highlighted the presence of a man in every woman’s life and that is the reason for the management and success of a woman in every field. She saluted all the men for their selfless and dedicated services to the society.

Director Irine Rebello opined that Every day is Women’s Day in every woman’s life. She congratulated all the women for managing their professional as well as personal life. She called upon the women staff take care of their health as they are hygiene plays a vital role for the betterment of the family and society at large.

All the Ladies on the dais were honoured with shawl and flower bouquet. All the lady staff were honored with flower.

On behalf of the women staff, founders branch manager, Blanche Fernandes expressed her appreciation and gratitude for arranging for fantastic celebration and honoured the chairman and general manager on behalf of all the lady staff of the bank.

Retired staff of the bank, Austin Rego, who retired after serving the bank for 40 years was felicitated by the management and staff members of the bank, with a letter of felicitation, memento, flower bouquet and gift. 'Letter of Honour' was read by Hampankatta branch accountant, Johnson Dsouza. Austin Rego thanked the management and the staff for felicitation and honor.

Karkal branch manager, Rayan Praveen and Udupi branch manager, Owin Rebello, compered the programme. Credit manager Deril Lasrado and Shirva branch accountant Nevil Dsouza assisted. General manager Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.

Directors, Andrew Dsouza, Herold Monteiro, Roshan Dsouza, Elroy K Crasto, C G Pinto, J P Rodrigues, Anil Patrao, Dr Jerald Pinto, ex director Archibald Menezes, chartered accountant Vivian Pinto, dy general manager Raj F Menezes, were also Present during the occasion.

Soon after the formal programme cultural was organised and the audience were kept entertained with songs by Velita Lobo, Karen Crasta, Robin Sequiera and Mohammed Iqbal. Mellu, Richa, Sunil and Cletus enthralled the gathering with their jokes.
