Centre to begin Covid vaccination for 12-14 age group from March 16

New Delhi, Mar 14 (IANS): The Union Government after deliberations with scientific bodies decided on Monday to start Covid vaccination for 12-14 year age group from March 16.

Those teenagers born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 or those who are already above 12 years of age of population will be administered Covid vaccines from March 16. The Covid-19 vaccine to be administered would be Corbevax manufactured by Hyderabad based Biological E, said the Union Health Ministry.

The government has also decided that the condition of co-morbidity for Covid-19 precaution dose for population over 60 years of age will be removed forthwith.

"If children are safe then the country is safe! I am happy to inform that the Covid vaccination program for the children in the age group of 12 to 13 and 13 to 14 is starting from March 16", said Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a tweet.

"Also, everyone aged 60 plus will now be able to get precaution dose. I urge the families of children and people in the age group of 60 plus that they must get the vaccine", he said in the same tweet in Hindi.

The ministry said that the population above 14 years of age is already being administered vaccine under the ongoing vaccination drive. "Hence, from 16th March 2022 onwards, the entire population above 60 years of age will be eligible for Precaution Dose of COVID19 vaccine", said the ministry.

    Why Covaxin for 15-18 age group and Corbevax for 12 to 15 which is a totally new one. Known devil better than unknown angel ? Or no confidence on earlier vaccines or bigger cut from this one...

    Please do not give these jabs to kids as they have the immune power to ward off this virus. You don't know which undiscovered comorbidity the child is having and get a fatal ADR! Many people have died suddenly after taking this deadly jab; among my close family and friends atleast 8 healthy people have died, many developed serious heart complications. This Idea of favouring the vaccine companies to sell their remaining stock will put the lives of innocent children in peril! Only recently, a widely publicized report, said that one 18 year old girl lost her eyesight immediately after taking this killer jab!

    Parents- these vaccines are at experimental stage & never are compulsory according to the central govt. issued affidavits in Supreme Court as such they are optional only after parents are informed of adverse reactions they might get kids jabbed. If any institutions or colleges facilitating them without informed consent about them then they are responsible if any adverse event takes place and are liable to be prosecuted by parents. These facts are made known to institutions & colleges by Awaken India Movement volunteers as well as parents as no child can be discriminated while attending classes or sitting for exams on the basis of their status. According to worldwide date out of 2 million youngster below 25 years only 1 comorbid kid got admitted to hospital. This infection will give kids just a sniffle or minor cold like symptoms for a few days while vaccines need to be administered to 2 million kids to save 1 assumed comorbid kid, but will put 17 kids at risk through adverse reactions out of 100 kids which is never an ideal scenario to give mass vaccinations for a presumed infection with survival rate of 99.999%. With Omicron giving all the people natural vaccination no mass vaccinations are needed putting our youngster life at risk to save elders to benefit vaccine industries future seasonal boosters for life time. Wake Up & End this Menace of pharma lobby deciding which freedoms we can enjoy in future, we didn't vote for them or for any politicians to interfere in our medical decision making.

    Excellently well said... I have suffered so much because of the vaccine... I was fine even after Covid.. But once i took vaccine it affected my blood pressure so much that ive been diagnosed with third stage pulmonary hypertension.. My days are numbered.... Please please be careful regarding kids.. They are strong.. Itll be like a common cold.
