Mumbai, Jan 19: The annual sports meet of the metro-based Bhandary Seva Samiti was held at RPF grounds, Mulund (East), on Sunday January 16.
The Samiti vice-president Padmanabha Bhandary inaugurated the sports meet here on Sunday morning.
President Balakrishna P Bhandary presided over the programme.
Bombay Bunts’ Association vice-president and hotelier Shyam N Shetty of Navi Mumbai was the chief guest.
Billava Jagrati Balaga vice-president K Bhojaraj was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shyam N Shetty said that sport has no age limit and indulging in sports boosts both physical and mental agility and improves the health of an individual.
Bhojaraj said that the sports meet gives an opportunity for the community to forge a brotherly bond in the metro. “It’s not essential who wins the prize but participating in the sports meet is important,” he said.
Bhalakrishna P said that the sports meet is being organized to encourage community youth to excel in extracurricular activities.

Honorary chief secretary lawyer R M Bhandary Thane welcomed the gathering. Gayatri N Bhandary rendered the prayers. Prasad Bhandary compered the programme and youth wing president Anuf Bhandary proposed the vote of thanks.
