Udupi: Prohibitory orders clamped in district following Hijab verdict

Udupi, March 15: Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao imposed prohibitory orders across the district till March 21, 6 PM as a preventive measure following the High Court verdict on Hijab row pronounced on Tuesday, March 15.

Section 144 has been clamped to maintain the law and order, the DC has said.

During this time, people gathering in more than five members, taking out protests, public procession, installing banners, public gathering and programmes, bursting crackers, carrying articles which could be used for physical assault is prohibited.

Entry inside the campus without the permission of the college or school head will be restricted, stated a release from the DC office.
