Bengaluru, Mar 17: In three separate accidents which happened in Nidgundi, Hiriyur and Doddaballapur in the state on Wednesday March 16, ten persons lost their lives.
Nidgundi, Vijayanagara: After a Cruiser vehicle turned turtle on national highway 50 near Banavikallu village in Kudlgi taluk, five persons died and seven were injured. Laxmibai Chattera (60), Kallavva Hugar (55), Cruiser driver, Siddayya Kalagi (42) from Vandala village, Kuntevva Masali (50) from Kirashyala village and Neelavva Desai (54) from Almatti died. The accident happened when the families were on a pilgrimage to Rameswaram.
Hiriyur, Chitradurga: A car which hit a wild boar, went out of the driver's control and rammed into a lorry in an accident which happened near Aimangala in Hiriyur taluk on Tuesday night. The deceased were Vijayakumar (38) and Ravikumar (35) from Bengaluru, while the third victim, a woman, could not be identified. Two died on the spot while the other died when being taken to hospital. The family was going to Duggamma festival in Davanagere. The wild boar died in the accident. Aimangala police have undertaken an investigation.
Doddaballapur: After a two-wheeler hit a tree near Hamam village in the outskirts of the town, the father-son duo on the two-wheeler died. They were Ramaiah (75) and his son, Narayanaswamy (50) form Sonnappanahalli. They were going to the market in a motorbike when the vehicle hit a tree with considerable force. Both suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.
