Mangaluru, Mar 18: Rolanda Alicia Machado is set to make her debut in Coastalwood with Tulu movie ‘Boda Sheera’ directed by Dixsun J D.
The film is produced under the banner Dubois Productions in association with Sparkle Productions.
Godwin Sparkle and Rolanda are playing the lead in the movie. Patson Pereira has composed the music and William Pinto Paderangi has penned down the dialogues.
Rolanda, born and brought up in Africa, is the proud daughter of Francis Herman and Avitha Machado. She has done her schooling in Indian Language School at Lagos, PUC at Vidyodaya PU School Udupi and B-Arch at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru. Presently, she is working in an architecture studio based in Kuwait.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Rolanda said, "When I was young, people told me that I had the personality to become a model. I grew up with that passion in my heart and I decided to chase my dreams as I wanted to become someone's inspiration. I want to let women know that they can be whatever they want in life and they can do it all. Through modelling, I slowly developed interest in acting.
"I believe modelling is hard work and so is acting. I have the ability to handle both my passion and profession," said Rolanda .
When asked about her upcoming movie Boda Sheera, Rolanda said, "It was very challenging to act without knowing the language. I was trained for 15 days to catch different kinds of emotions and speak the language. It was impossible for me without the support of the crew. The training was mostly based on understanding the language through emotions."
On how she got into the movie, Rolanda said, "During Covid, I had come back to Udupi and I wanted to do some modelling. Hence I had circulated my portfolio in search of a job as a model. Fortunately, my portfolio got into the hands of a director and he called me for an audition. I would say it was destiny and it was meant to be for me because it was definitely not in my plan."
Speaking about her role in the movie, Rolanda said, "I could certainly relate myself with the character. The way the director narrated the character made me feel like he was talking about me. And overall, the concept and the storyline of the movie was very interesting."
