Kundapur, Mar 18: Following demands that entry to the municipal council limits should be allowed from the national highway, highway project director Lingegowda visited the spot on Friday, March 18 and conducted an inspection.
He said that entry to Kundapur will be allowed in front of the Mescom office near LIC road within the next two months. “The service road will be widened at highway level and entry to the city will be allowed from both sides. Street lights will be erected before March 30 and demands of students for provision to cross the highway will also be met,” he said.
Kundapur Municipal Council president Veena Bhasker Mendon, vice president Sandeep Kharvi, block BJP president Shanker Ankadakatte, highway campaign committee’s Kenchanoor Somashekar Shetty, B Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Kaveri, Vivek Nayak, municipal council member Prabhaker Shekhar Poojary, Santhosh Kumar Shetty, Rohini Udayakumar, Vanita Billava, Raghavendra Kharvi, Avinash Ulthoor, Raghavendra Shet, Sathish Poojary, Nagaraj Acharya, Surendra Kanchan, Abhishek and others were present.
An appeal to open service road from national highway to Kundapur city was submitted to union minister Shobha Karandlaje today. She had immediately sent the highway project director to the spot.
