London, Jan 27 (IANS) Hollywood actress Natalie Portman is "honoured" for being nominated in the best actress category for "Black Swan" at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards and thanks director Darren Aronofsky for the success of the movie.
The movie went on to pick up five Oscar nominations, including one for the actress, Tuesday.
"I am so honoured and grateful to the Academy for this recognition. It is a wonderful culmination of the 10-year journey with Darren to make this film," Portman has been quoted as saying by femalefirst.co.uk.
"Making 'Black Swan' is already the most meaningful experience of my career, and the passion shown for the film has completed the process of communication between artists and audience. I am so thankful for the support we have received and I share this honour with the entire cast and crew of the film, especially Darren Aronofsky," she added.
Portman recently received the best actress award at the Golden Globe for her performance in "Black Swan".
At the Oscar, she is competing with Annette Bening ("The Kids Are All Right"), Nicole Kidman ("Rabbit Hole"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Winter's Bone") and Michelle Williams ("Blue Valentine").
The Oscar ceremony is to be held Feb 27.
