Thinkers write to CM over Bhagavadgita in syllabus, Tipu lesson removal, Muslim vendor ban

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Mar 29: After the high court gave its verdict on Hijab, issues like banning Muslim vendors during Hindu temple fairs, inclusion of Bhagavad Gita in school curriculum and removal of Tipu related lessons from syllabus are creating controversy in Malnad and coastal areas of Karnataka.

Many thinkers and intellectuals are disturbed by the latest developments in the society across the state. They have written a letter to chief minister Basavaraj Bommai in this regard and have urged him to drop Bhagavadgita lessons from school syllabus.

Many senior litterateurs have expressed their objection with regard to the restrictions placed on Muslim vendors during Hindu temple fairs. They are thinking of appealing in the court through a lawyer. Objecting to the inclusion of Bhagavadgita in school curriculum, the thinkers said that students and children need to learn about our constitution more than Bhagavadgita. So the Constitution should be included.

The letter also urges the CM to allow Muslim girl students to write examinations wearing Hijab on their head. Thinkers have also asked CM to make necessary amendments to prevent harassment of Muslim vendors. As many as 61 thinkers, writers and litterateurs, including renowned personalities Dr K Marula Siddappa, S G Siddaramaiah, Boluvaru Mohammed Kunhi, Banjagere Jayaprakash and Rehmath Tarikere have signed the letter that is sent to CM Bommai.

Whatever you write to our honourable CM, does he have the freedom, power or the willingness to act on these things? For him protecting his chair is more important than everything else.

These patriot and nation building intellectuals, thinkers, writers and journalists are sworn enemies of BJP and are existential threat to this govt. Most of journalists, writers and thinkers have been killed by this govt in spite of they being Hindus for exposing this govt’s hidden anti national and anti constitutional activities. If govt listens to them and acts then its end of BJP-RSS.

Let these thinkers stand for election and see if people of India support them. In India power comes from people's vote, not from guns or from a book.

Onething I dont understand .Books and lessens for the students are given and revised every year just after the school has begun. Many students are not getting books in time so that lessens start immediately Every year difference in lesson is made. Why dont make earlier what in books come or why change every year? Here the books will hardly change. At the end of school year ,what comes in next year is already kept ready before end of the year,so that teacher and students immediately beginn..Changes if necessary are made early enough. Now you can start to fight over the lessons in Assembly.

when Temples were under the Control of the Government but Mosques and churches were not under the Control of the government. these thinkers and writers did not write any letter to government. when shaadi Bhagya was not extended to all religions but was given only to some religion these thinkers did not write letters. When Halaal food certification was affecting the business of many communities and gave almost monopoly to certain sections of the society these writers did not write any letters. it is good that you write letters but extend that courtesy to all religion without bias.

Along with writing letters, people need to be educated by writing in news papers, social media about the crooked ness of our politicians. If it is done so next election will show the results.
