Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 2: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Saturday, April 2, reported nil coronavirus cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,485 out of which six are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,04,680 as fine in 96,200 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No corona cases were reported on April 2, the total active Covid cases are 3. No patients were discharged on Saturday.

A total of 10,76,022 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,23,378 have received both doses and 54,946 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
