Mysuru, Apr 4: Progressive thinkers vetoed the call given by pro-Hindu organizations not to buy Halal meat and challenged them by buying Halal meat from Muslim owned shops.
Sakalentu Jaathi Sahabalve Sangha, Karnataka state farmers’ association, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti members, led by litterateur Devanur Mahadeva, thinkers P Mallesh, Badagalapara Nagendra of farmers’ association, Choranahalli Shivanna and BSP leader Chennakeshava went to a mutton shop at Shantinagar and purchased meat from Muslims.
Speaking on the occasion, Devanoor Mahadeva said, “The plot hatched by pro-Hindu organizations for vote bank politics is instigating the BJP government to come up with controversial announcements and decisions.”
It was also seen that Hindus were buying meat from Hindu owned shops only in various places of the city on Sunday.
