Karkala, Apr 13: In true cinematic style, the police seized a vehicle that was illegally transporting cattle and rescued 14 cows on Wednesday April 13.

The operation, which was led by Hebri Inspector Sudarshan Doddamani who gave a chase to the miscreants, was held at Hebribyana region.

The vehicle carrying the cattle rammed into a shop at the time of the operation. Miscreants, who are said to be from Mangaluru, fled the spot leaving the cattle and vehicle behind.

The miscreants had tied the legs of the cattle and were illegally transporting them.

While one of the rescued cattle died, the others which are in a critical state are getting medical treatment from a vet.

Very sad state of the animals... Frightened animals secrete certain hormones which are not good for the consumer of them... Looks like it is a lucrative business... They can afford to leave behind a truck of good value...

Make Beef available legally, rest all will fall in place. Police also will get some respite. Never thought this will happen in Hebri, since you are around.
