Mangalore Konkans Dubai to host ‘Golden Voice of UAE’ singing reality show

Dubai, Apr 19: After a gap of 4 years, Mangalore Konkans Dubai are back again, to create a platform for encouragement of talents and awareness of the enormous budding singing talents available in the UAE with the Konkani community. A reality show in Konkani singing is organized to crown ‘Mangalore Konkan’s Golden Voice of UAE’ in male and female category for UAE residents above the age of 18.

As per president of Mangalore Konkans Dubai, James Mendonca, the audition round will be held on Sunday June 5 at 4:30 PM at Bab Al Ibada Party Hall, Mezzanine floor, HSBC building, King Faisal road, Sharjah. The best 6 in each category will be qualified for the second round followed by the finale which will be held in the month of November, with live band, music and singing qualified judges and with more than 750+ audience.

The winner of the finale in each category will be crowned as ‘Mangalore Konkans Golden Voice of UAE’ with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Rules and Regulations

1. The competition is open to all Konkani speaking individuals with valid UAE residence visa. The language of singing is Konkani only
2. Participants should complete his or her birthday on June 5th to be eligible to participate
3. The Time Limit is a maximum of 3 Minutes
4. Musicians accompanying the singer need to stand behind the singer and not on the side or in the front
5. Participant is free to play his/her own musical instrument while singing. Only one musical instrument accompaniment is allowed
6. Contestant should not refer to written Lyrics
7. Referring to Lyrics in any form will render the participant as disqualified
8. Last date for submission of entries is 20th May 2022
9. Total number of entries is limited and based on first come first serve basis
10. Presentation should NOT be offensive or abusive in any respect. Should such a discrepancy be noted, the contestant will be immediately disqualified
11. The best of 6 singers from each Solo Singing Category of Male & Female will qualify to the Second round followed by the Finale
12. Participants are restricted to Konkani speaking Mangalureans only
13. A panel of qualified judges will judge the contestants and their decision will be final and binding
14. Participants should report at the Venue at 3:30 PM
15. Mangalore Konkans Dubai reserves the right to amend / cancel the event without prior notice in case of insufficient entries or any other unavoidable reasons. Mangalore Konkans Dubai reserves the right to make amendments to the above rules and their decision will be final and binding

Mangalore Konkans Dubai was established in the year 1988 with the basic objective of promoting Konkani language and culture among the Mangalurean diaspora in the UAE. It also intended to extend financial support to the Mangalurean community in Dubai and in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. It was due to the indefatigable efforts of Mangalore Konkans Dubai, for the first time, a Konkani speaking priest was deputed to Dubai and with that, permanent Konkani Mass was also started.

A few of the events organized by Mangalore Konkans Dubai are Grand May Queen Ball, Konkani King & Queen Contest, Konkani Milan, Family Fiesta, Wilfy Sentimental Night, Lorna’s Musical Evening, Felicitations Dr Aloysius P D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore diocese, Konkani dramas, Konkani Sports Meets, Talent Show, Konkani Gayan Spordho, Parental Guidance Seminar, Medical Seminar, Leadership Training and Personality development programme, Cookery Contest, A Seminar on A Journey – Teenage to Adulthood, Mega Konkani Concert, Speech Craft for Konkani speaking Mangalorean Youth in the UAE, Life Skills for Parents and Teenagers, Konkani Elocution competition, Gulf Voice of Mangalore and many more. Also established Education & Medical Trust fund with CODP Mangaluru, Cancer Patients Aid Fund with Fr Muller Mangaluru and sponsored Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial Best Singer Award with Sandesha.
