Miami, Feb 10 (IANS/EFE) Ricky Martin's new album, "Musica+Alma+Sexo", is doing well just one week after it went on the market worldwide, it was reported Wednesday.
The sixth studio album by the Puerto Rican superstar also debuted in the No. 3 spot on Billboard's Top 200 list, becoming the highest ranking achieved by a release in Spanish in 15 years, Martin's publicists said.
So far, the album has gone platinum in the US and gold in Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela after debuting in the No. 1 spot on the Top Albums of iTunes Latino, Mexico and Spain.
The first single from the album - "Lo mejor de mi vida eres tu" - for the second consecutive week is leading Billboard's Latin Songs and Latin Pop Songs lists. And the music video of the number, recently selected as one of the five "Must See Videos" by People magazine, has generated more than 3 million visits on the Vevo online music page.
Martin's world "Musica+Alma+Sexo" tour will begin in Puerto Rico March 25 with three consecutive shows at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Colosseum and will then move to a number of cities in the US, Canada and Latin America.
