Udupi: Devdas Hebbar is TP President, Baby S Poojary Vice-President

Udupi, Feb 10: Devdas Hebbar of Belle constituency was elected as taluk panchayat president and Baby S Poojary vice president, both BJP candidates in the taluk panchayat elections held here on Thursday February 10.
Kundapura sub-division officer Sadhashiv Prabhu was the election officer conducted the proceedings along with taluk panchayat chief executive officer Manjunathayya.
Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Kaup MLA K Lalaji R Mendon, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, Zilla Panchayat former president Gladys D’Almeida, zilla panchayat newly-elected president Shankar Poojary, Udupi BJP president Uday Kumar Shetty, deputy councilor Bharati Chandrashekar, former councilor Somashekar Bhat, taluk panchayat member Veronica Cornelio, Dr Sunitha Shetty, Kaup block BJP president Naveen Shetty Kuthyar, taluk panchayat former member Kiran Kumar and others congratulated Devdas Hebbar and Baby S Poojary.
Devdas Hebbar:
Forty-seven-years-old Devdas Hebbar is an active BJP activist. He is a diploma holder in electronics. He is married to Chandrika and has two sons. He was elected consecutively four times as member of Belle gram panchayat and served as vice president. He has served as secretary of Kaup block BJP committee and later as vice president for one term.
He is the alumnus of St Mary’s High School, Shirva and St Lawrence Pre-University College. He serves as managing trustee of Brahmalingeshwar temple, Kattingeri. He served Belle Agricultural Co-operative Bank as deputy chairman.
Baby S Poojary:
Fifty-two-years-old Baby S Poojary is the representative of Kokkarne taluk panchayat constituency. She is a social activist and sister of Gangadhar Bangera, president of Billav Sangh, Malpe. Her husband Sanjeev Poojary is a retired teacher and they have three sons.
She is the founder president of Kokkarne Mahila Vividoddesha Sahakari Sangh and continues to serve in its Board. She was elected consecutively for four times as member of Kokkarne gram panchayat. She is actively involved in the struggle for rural development.
Addressing the media persons, Devdas Hebbar said that he would be committed for honestly discharging his duties to the satisfaction of party leaders. He also said he would take earnest interest in judicious utilization of state funds.
Both Devdas Hebbar and Baby S Poojary thanked state minister Dr V S Acharya, veteran BJP leaders M Somashekar Bhat, A G Kodgi, MP Sadanand Gowda, party activists at the occasion.
