Panaji: Mahesh, Lara Dutta Say 'I do'

Panaji, Feb 20, (PTI): Tennis star Mahesh Bhupati and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta today solemnised their marriage at a sunset point of erstwhile Portuguese fort of Aguada, 10 kms away from Panaji.
 
The wedding, which had Lara wearing a white gown and Mahesh in black suit, took place in presence of selected invitees.


 
Sources stated that the couple had set up specially decorated space at the Sunset point within the premises of a heritage status five star hotel near Candolim beach on 16th century fort.
 
"We had a memorable time at the wedding. Looking forward to the rest of our lives together,” the couple has said in their message after the wedding.
 
The celebrity duo has specially thanked friends and family for making this weekend extra special for them.
 
Around 200 invitees including bollywood’s Reitesh Deshmukh, Ravina Tondon, Dia Mirza, Priyanka Chopra, Celina Jetley, Boman Irani, designers including Wendell Rodricks, Sheetal Malhar were in the crowd.
 
There was no confirmation whether Shahrukh Khan could make it for the occasion.
 
From the sporting field, Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes along with his wife Ria Pillai was sighted amongst the invitees.
 
The wedding was held out of media-bound. Sources close to the couple said that Mahesh wanted to avoid media attention for this wedding.
 
The couple after registering their marriage in Mumbai had flown to Goa where they had a sangeet at Club Fresh, a hang out place at Candolim beach, on Friday night. The sangeet was all night affair with Lara and Mahesh themselves dancing to some recent bollywood numbers like `Jor ka Jhatka’ and `Shila ki Jawani’.
