Mahendra Kumar Apologies to Christians for his Role in Church Attacks

Mysore, Feb 21 (Agencies): Close on the heels of sharing power with BJP in Mysore Zilla Panchayat, opposition JDS today admitted into its fold a sangh parivar leader, reportedly involved in church attacks in Karnataka to "weaken communal forces and strengthen secular forces".

Former convenor of Bajrang Dal Mahendra Kumar today joined JDS led by former Prime Minister H D Devegowda along with his supporters from coastal and Malnad districts of Karnataka in the presence of state unit JDS president H D Kumaraswamy.

Mahendra Kumar who was divested as the convenor of Bajdrang Dal after he owned responsibility for the 2008 church attack in parts of Mangalore and Chikmagalur and even jailed for some time, lashed out at BJP which he accused as a "party that is creating wedge between castes and communities for its survival".

"I am today shedding the shackles of communalism to strive for communal harmony, for which the JDS is working," Mahendra Kumar said defending his cross over to JDS.

He tendered his apologies to Christians for his role in attacks on churches and described Muslims as patriots.

Mahendra Kumar, training his guns on the BJP government in the state, said corruption had reached unprecedented heights.

Kumaraswamy dubbed the Congress as a "directionless party".

He said he had chosen to admit Mahendra Kumar into the party fold despite reservations expressed by Muslims and Christian leaders.

Kumaraswamy said he was "keen on promoting the welfare of downtrodden sections of the society".

JDS Spokesman Y S V Datta launched a blistering attack on today's BJP rally remarking "it is not for celebrating 1000 days in office, but to celebrate 1000 scams that have surfaced in the BJP government".

The BJP has put on display its ugly wealth power in the rally, he alleged.

Seems like it is another drama plotted by Mahendra Kumar? Is this drama as the election is coming up? How shameless JDS can be to allow such creatures to their party? It is time for such people to be punished. In one end if this man is apologizing the other end the fake reports of Justice B K Somashekar Commission? Where is the justice in this country?
Why people open their eyes and vote for the right leader?

If Mahender Kumar owns up the Church attacks then Justice Somashekhara commission loses its credibility. Who is right? Kumar or the Somashekara commission? both are contradicting the whole issue. To find the truth we need to have one more commission which will take another two years and come out with a strange report. How about launching 'Mutalik commission' to do this unfinished task?

Mahendra Kumar, who thought himself a hero of the day way back in 2008,has now come out and publicly apologised. Such a rogue should have been arrested and tried under a court of law.Today he has joined the JDS.and he thinks that catholics are going to forget everything with his apology.Tomorrow even Kasab can apologise to the public and go back to Pakistan. What is the use of having a law at all in this country if scoundrels can go scotfree and join another political party? Mahendra Kumar will reap what he sowed! He will pay all his dues for every action of his. That is nature's law. Even if he escapes the law of the land today, he will never escape his karma.

If this man is apologising for his deeds, why people blaming BJP? Before he was in Bhajarang Dal and supporting BJP. Remember he defended church attacks, you people called him a bad boy, asked for the probe. BJP never defended him and ordered the probe. Now he joined JDS and became SECULAR (Like Narayan Rane, Sanjay Nirupam, etc). Who is responsible if he repeat it?

Some commentators says the Church attack was carried out by JDS. Then:
1) Why false cases filed against innocent minority protestors are not withdrawn by State BJP Govt. ?
2) Who advised Somu to give a totally biased report claiming no State Govt., Hindu outfits were involved in Church attacks.
I do not say Mahendra's apology to Christians is true. If he is really sorry for his cowardly act, he should disclose under whose advise and support he carried out these inhumanly act. Now, he is trying to convince minority to gain political mileage and till he clearly s who is behind Church attacks, no minority should beleive him and should never support him.

Mahendra Kumar, if you are really apologetic for the act you and your group had committed by attacking churches, first and foremost leave the political party which u have affiliated and on your individual level meet all the church places where the attack took place and ask forgiveness from the community & their leaders.
By affiliating yourself to the political party gives the impression to me as common man, asking forgiveness leads doubt in my mind. I am not the judge for anybody’s act as nobody has the right to judge. Only God is the judge as we believe he is just and truth.

With regard to the derogatory book published against Hindu God is not by Christian but by a Hindu, who claims that he has converted to Christianity and this has happened almost 12 years back in Andra Pradesh.. It is written in Telugu. Who has translated in English and the printing press which published it. They should catch both and it should be the act of police department. There is set of rules designed to follow.
Any book which published by any body or claims to belong to any religion, the entire religious body should not be held responsible as it is not published under their name. Catch the individual and punish them. We have nothing to do. Even New Life has disowned that they have absolutely no knowledge about it. . So there is something fishy in the entire incidents. That is why we Christians ask for CBI enquiry. Why can’t the govt. catch the book writer, printing press and publish their name. Is the govt. is scared to do so. Let the real truth come out.

Today Mahendrakumarhas become hero overnight to so called pseudo seculars like Ismail Perinji..Why ? the answer is he announced that Muslims are patriots. Tomorrow if MK changes his mind and comes to BJP he will become Villan overnight again. So its not by the actions you guys decide who is communal or not. Its by whihc party he represents he becomes hero or nuisence. So even that Pramod Muthalik can become hero tomorrow just if he joins Kai party or JDS ?. Well if Mr. Mahendra has apologized convicted by his conscience, v Christians have to forgive him which he deserves...Anyways, if he joined JDS it means he has jumped from one dung pit to the another...JDS is no better than BJP...My personal opinion is that Mr. Mahendra has to leave politics and work as a social worker to develop a strong youth who work towards building up our nation. Mr. Mahendra in not the culprit. He is just a mis lead youth. Lets get the masterminds who just use people like Mr. Mahendra as pawns. Lets show in the forth coming elections that the people of karavali r not stupids. Now that we have a clear picture of who is what, lets choose the best. Also pray for the youths of our nation. There is no other powerful weapon than a genuine prayer and God is not deaf not to hear and answer us. Let us bring back the glory to karaavali which is known to have PRAJNAAVANTHA (intellectual/intelligent) population, that is lost because of communal riots. So now we know the whole story. Kumaraswamy paid Mahendra to ransack the churches.

Afterall Mahendra was a bouncer in Mumbai in a dance club. It is a shame that riots can be created so easily by likes of Kumaraswamy.

We Daijis should see through whole drama and stop blaming BJP government now that we know it was JDS sponsored event to discredit BJP govt.
