Udupi: Man arrested in Rs 50 k worth Hirebettu temple theft case

Udupi, May 21: The Manipal police have arrested a man wanted in the case of theft at a temple in Hirebettu.

Bhaskar Shetty (49), a resident of Hirebettu is the accused arrested by the police. He had stolen a face replica of the Panchaloha, arathi plate, brass items and a bell of Balakattu Beedumane temple. The value of these items is said to be Rs 50, 000.

Bhaskar Shetty was produced in the court by the police and has been remanded to judicial custody.

    I feel Hindu sach mein khatre mein hain. On the other hand I feel sad for this person. Unemployment and Poverty leads to all this. BJ peee Government in 'ghor nidra avasta'.
