May 26: Six Covid cases reported in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi adds one infection

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 26: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, May 26, reported six new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered zero cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,589 out of which 21 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One corona case was reported on May 25, the total active Covid cases are two.

A total of 10,85,311 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,60,618 have received both doses and 71,298 people have received the booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
