Mangaluru: PaGo award conferred on journalist Mithun Kodethur

Mangaluru, May 31: The prestigious 'PaGo' award for the year 2022 was conferred on journalist Mithun R Kodethur, a reporter at Hosadigantha, at the press club on Tuesday May 31.

The award is instituted in memory of P Gopalakrishna by PaGo Memorial Trust and is presented annually by the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union (DKWJU).

After conferring the award, DCP (law and order) Hariram Shankar said, "Rural areas are the soul of India. Journalists like P Sainath also wrote about the issues in the rural areas. Taking responsibility, journalists should write more about the problems, positives and human interest stories of the rural areas."

Additional deputy commissioner Krishna Murthy was also present.

DKWJA president Srinivas Indaje, Jaganath Shetty Bala, Jithendra Kundeshwar and Anand Shetty were present.

Journalist Arif Padubidri compered the event.
