Bantwal: 28 arrested for gambling in recreation club; cash, items seized

Bantwal, Jun 3: Bantwal police took 28 people into custody after they raided a recreation club in B Mooda village on B C Road on Thursday June 2.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of inspector Vivekananda.

The police recovered cash worth Rs 26,900, a table, six chairs and 52 playing cards used for gambling and a case was registered under the Karnataka Police Act.

The accused threw the currency notes that were used in the game from the top portion of the building and tried to escape out while trying to pick up some notes out of fear of police. The traffic on the service road was held up for some time due to the commotion and the eagerness of people to pick up currency notes.

    Ho Ho Full action. All 28 must have seen Bond Movies, Dr No and stuff like that. Real life, different but. Think after IPL, such gambling will pick up. Till last month end, IPL gambling, fixing was there right??

    Alcohol, gambling and prostitution are age old practices men will never give up... Govt must legalize them in all states and regulate them for quality and hygiene... It may seem stupid for a few people, but this is the reality and right way to go about them...
