Mangaluru: Two dead, four injured after car crashes against tree

Mangaluru, Jun 4: Two people died when the car in which they were travelling crashed against a tree on the June 2 near A K Urdu school near Sooralpady of Ganjimutt on NH 169.

The deceased are identified as Ashwini (29) and her father Pundalikappa (62), natives of Ranebennur. Ashiwni’s husband Santhosh, daughter Shreya, mother Pushpa and car driver Sohail, who suffered injuries, are recovering.

The family was travelling by WagonR car from Ranebennur to Mangaluru for medical treatment of deceased Pundalikappa. Around 5.15 am the vehicle crashed against the tree. Ashwini died on the spot, while Pundalikappa breathed his last on the way to hospital.

Bajpe police have registered a case in this connection.
