Udupi: Pejawar Mutt Seer's Disciples Demand Apology from Raitha Sangha Leader

Udupi, Mar 5 (TNN): Disciples of Sri Vishvesha Teertha Swami of Pejawar mutt took objection to the high-handedness shown by Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) leader Vijay Kumar Hegde during a meeting chaired by the swami between Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) officials and the farmers in Udupi on Friday. The disciples have demanded that the KRRS leadership apologize to the seer for their act.

The move by the farmer leader to shout slogans denouncing the seer and accusing him of having accepted monetary favours from the company is objectionable and condemnable. The stand taken by the seer, known for his simple, straight forward nature and his love for the environment is known across the country. To shout slogans decrying a person of his stature and making baseless allegations is nothing but insulting civil society as a whole, they said.

The disciples reiterated their total support to the pro-environment stand taken by the swami and extended their moral support in his crusade against environmental degradation.

Thanks Kannadia, it will surely bring smiles on may of my poor villagers. every support in any form ...makes us feel secured that, our fellow citizens are with us at this time of difficulties. There is lot to do .. unless we leash these Corporate goons the entire middle and lower middle claa Indians will have to leave with 1 meal. For want of them buying luxurous yatch, aeroplane.. 7 stars houses in every part of this world they are bleeding the poor. There is no clarity in what is happening, we as citizens are not taken into confidence.

We don't know when our house is going to be demolished? Just pray that no corporates don't eye your property while he i sflying over your head or sees a map and says he wants this at any cost. There is no plan how to relocate the people? Henceforth, if the company takes our land they must give equity in par with the promoter not just small token amount to buy our BP tablet for rest of our life.

All religious leaders should keep out of politics and preach to their folks how to be honest and useful person who cares for all humans. This swami is involved in politics and seeks self publicity.

A person of the stature of Pejawar should have consistency in the position he takes. He changes his versions too frequently. Had he been consistent in his stand against these so called development no big industry could have come to Dakshina Kannada. There are two things - one, He should take a firm stand on anything and stand by it come what may. Two, he can discharge his religious obligations and guide his dicipoles and not misguide the people who agitate against wholesale distruction of greenery and environement. He should not mediate between the company and the agitators.

Mr. Balakrishna Shetty,Yellur / Dubai you are right- it is time we show doors to these swamies. It is we who have elated these swamies and now they are acting as if they are god. I am quite surpised who these deciples are? are they Govt of Karnataka or UPLC? I really pity this Swamy for degrading himself. It is time for him to keep his mouth shut if he cannot help. He can't have the cake and eat it too.

KRRS was introduced to DK / Udupi dist very recently.. none of the twin dist farmers and villagers were interested in joining any kind of Sangha before.. we trusted in these useless politicians and corrupt and enethical swamies. today, KRRS had come asa boon to our villages before we were rooteed out totally from our homes. Had we joined KRRS around 2000 .. our villagers could not have been taken for a ride by these companies. Govt. had imposed Sec 144 and snatched all our lands and even today more than half people did not get their compensation.. we have to pay bribe to these officers to get our compensation, police had dragged women and children from their houses, with KRRS in being, these attrocities will never work. Dr from Tokyo.. iI am sorry to tell you that, people from your comminity have done lot of damages to our people, it isthey who had put us in to this pit. we trusted you, we thought a Bhramin was next to Brahma .... and he shall neever deceive. Today..I can name the people who have ditched us and all are from your community. No more respect for this Swamy.. our curses are on all your clan, you have brought the poor people on to road.

I would instead ask this Orange clad old man to apologise to the effected people of Santhoor, Pillar, Yellur, Nandikur. Sri Vishwesha had made mockery of honest struggle of the local people, ofcourse we have strong doubt of he taking money from the company to slow down his agitation otherwise why should he change his stand. Henceforth, we have not respect for this oldman and we shall show black flag in any function he appears.. as far as whereever it is possible. Hee has played with the emotion of our poor people. Today Raitha Sangha have come as a boon to our village.. they have whole heartedly supported us without any ulterior motive.

I wonder who these disciples are and what do they learn? Can they list down their contribution to the society except accepting padakanike from the public? The least the Swamiji could do is ask the UPCL to pay adequate compensation then and there to all the farmers whose paddy fields, jasmine and coconut gardens are ruined due to effluent discharge. With Krishna Mutt obligation to the Govt there is no way he can go against the govt but acts as double agent.

KRRS is always used the banner for oppurtunity to concentrate the situation. Where was the same KRRS when MEZ aquired lands of poor Kudubi farmers at Kalavar village near Mangalore. Where was KRRS when when agitation came to high and for Usha uspat at Harady village. Prjawara swamy was there for all agaitation like oppsing UPCL.
    All the best Swamiji

It would be better for seer to involve more into religious activity like catholic priests for the good of own than the politics!! Learn from others!!! Seers need a Bishop Type top order... kind of obedience!!!!Can not cross line! Discipline!! No Chaltha hai attitude!! You do not follow... you are out... If highly capable... be a Martin Luther!!
