Sullia: Man injured after unidentified assailants open fire

Sullia, Jun 6: A gang of four car borne strangers fired gunshot at a man on Mani-Mysuru highway near Venkatramana Society adjacent to Jyoti Circle of Kasaba village of the taluk at 10.30 pm on Sunday June 5.

According to the complaint filed in Sullia police station by the victim and complainant of this attack Mohammed Sai (39), a resident of Jayanagara of Kasaba village, he had come back to Sullia after attending the marriage function of his sister-in-law at Bantwal. He had parked his Hyundai Creta car near the spot of incident and had been to the old house of his younger sister Raziya.

As Mohammed returned from his younger sister’s house and was opening the door of his car, four people in a KA 12 registration plate car fired at him using a gun or country pistol with the intention of killing him. Fortunately, the gun shot hit the left side of the victim’s back and rebounded and hit the spot between the two doors of the right side of the car.

The police are investigating further.
