Mangaluru: Bowing to public pressure, CNG prices down by Rs 4 to Rs 84 a kilo

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SS)

Mangaluru, Jun 8: Bowing to public outcry against the steep price rise, GAIL has reduced the CNG prices by Rs 4 a kilo. Now, the company has fixed the price at Rs 84 a kilo.

In Mangaluru on March 31, the price of CNG per kilo was Rs 63 and it was raised to Rs 68 on April 1. Later, on April 8, the price of CNG was raised to Rs 75 and on April 16 it was again hiked to Rs 79 a kilo. On May 3, the price of CNG was hiked to Rs 83 a kilo and on June 1 it was raised to Rs 88 a kilo.

Reacting to the lowering of the price, CNG Users Association president Pushparaj Shetty said, “It is a mudslinging ploy employed by GAIL on the eyes of the consumers. A year ago, the prices of petrol and CNG were at least Rs 40 lower than what it is today and the difference is huge and unbearable for the consumers.”

There is "unconfirmed news" that imported Russian oil which is 40% cheaper than opec oil is being given to Reliance, which makes huge profits and the costlier OPEC oil is given to oil marketing companies which supply oil to the public! Please do your own research!

Bowing to public pressure.....? No. The CNG pricing is determined by the basket price of domestic gas and the price of spot LNG, which was hovering around US$ 35 per mmBTU and now has cooled down a bit. Hence the reduction in CNG price.

At this rate better to innovate. Self or Natural gas is best Gas, to tackle such situations. Some Anal Nerves should be manipulated to somehow store gas for later use. Can b done I think.. Application of mins required.

Obvious unemployment/under employment coupled with inflation is pushing our nation towards stagflation... Demand for two wheeler and entry level four wheeler vehicles have dropped considerably demonstrating clear lack of buying power among people... Govt is only focusing on saving seats in the coming elections... On ground pragmatism is absent in most ministers... Monsoon also is playing truant on the onset... Looks like we have hard things to bite on our plates...
