Mangaluru: Cattle trafficking accused tries to escape, caught by cop in movie-style chase

Mangaluru, Jun 9: High drama was witnessed at Natekal primary health care centre near Ullal when an accused in illegal cow trafficking case tried to escape from the clutches of police.

Konaje police personnel had brought three accused in theft case for medical examination to Natekal primary health care centre. Mohammed Mustafa, one of the accused, jumped on to the hill near the health centre and started running. Police constable M B Asundi of Konaje police station chased him in cinematic style and caught the accused. In the chase, Asundi sustained some injury.

Earlier, sub inspector Yogeshwar and personnel were patrolling near Chelur check post. They intercepted a car that was going from Melkar to Sajipa and found a calf in the car that was being transported illegally. So they took three inmates in the car into custody. When the three were taken to for medical check-up this high drama unfolded. However, due to the determination and grit of police personnel Asundi, the culprit was caught from escaping.

    It is hard to believe that these guys can afford to loose a car of good value for a calf... May be the car also may be stolen... Overall a pathetic way of life chosen by these fellows... They are not only steeling the cow... They are steeling the livelihood of a poor family... Also separating a family member who is part and parcel of the daily happiness of the household...

    Please punish the culprit, breaking law is a joke.. look at their body language.. enough of jobs are available but these goons like criminal activity...Gulf is right place to taste the punishment and to understand severity of law breaking..
