Mangalore, Mar 10: Tibetans to mark the 52nd anniversary of Tibetan People's Uprising carried out a peace rally in the city on Thursday March 10. Later the group gathered in solidarity at Nehru Maidan.

The Tibetan People's Uprising and Tibet is still kept alive by three slogans, long live HH the Dalai Lama, China Out of Tibet and Tibet is Independent. This day the Tibetan Yout Congress proudly and loudly declares to the world in general and to China in particular that even in future the three slogans will not only keep Tibet alive, but restore its independence.

Howver, today as the Tibetan across the country marked the day, Dalai Lama has announced his decision to step down. It was this day that several thousands of Tibetans surrounded the Dalai Lama's palace to prevent him from leaving or removed. The huge crowd had gathered in response to the rumour that the Chinese communists were planning to arrest the Dali Lama when he went to a cultural performance at the PLA's headquarters. This also marked the beginning of the uprising in Lhasa.
