Bantwal: Police detain two ganja peddlers, confiscate drugs

Bantwal, June 17: Police sub inspector Kalaimar P attached to Bantwal town police station and his team have detained ganja peddlers Mohammed Rafik alias Munna (44) and Taranath Poojary, both residents of Puttur, near Narahari hill, Panemangalore on Friday, June 17, in the morning.

Both the accused were reportedly standing beside the road on the way to Narahari hills at about 10.40 am. The raid was conducted on information provided by Bantwal sub-division assistant SP.

ASP office special staff Uday Rai, Kumar K and driver Nagaraj took part in the operation. The police confiscated ganja worth Rs 7,500 that together weighed 355 grams.

FIR No. 62/2022 under section 8 (C), 20(b)(ii)(A) NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. Police sub-inspector has sought legal action against them.
