Bantwal, Jun 18: Amtady gram panchayat officials and PDO taught a fitting lesson to the waste collection contractor of Farangipet, who used to dump the garbage at Kuriyalapadu of Amtadi by slapping fine as well as getting the waste removed from the site by the same contractor. This incident occurred on Friday June 17.

Locals of Kuriyalapadu raised a complaint with PDO Ravi of Amtadi gram panchayat about someone dumping the garbage in their area. The PDO and other members of panchayat searched for some clue in the garbage and got a bill of bar and restaurant of Farangipet. When tracing the origin of the bill and inquiry, it was known that the waste dumped at the site belonged to Pudu gram panchayat and it is done by the garbage collection contractor of Farangipet area.

The contractor who had dumped the waste was immediately summoned and asked to get the waste removed. In addition, he was fined Rs 5,000. PDO of Amtadi gram panchayat Ravi, secretary Laxminarayana and personnel took part in the operation.

Harish mangalore ,very good job. This Panchayat person really his money worth .Done a good job.I f only other persons also had done their job like this one ,India would really improve a lot.Dont spare who dumps their waste in others yard and make their life hard.Everyone should learn their waste to seperate and dump accordingly.Food and green wastage should be done in compost.dig a Pond away from your house in yard dump in it ,put some earth it so that no smell comes and become compost to use for your next in one year to plant some vegetables.Plastic can be put together and try to sell or give to who collects them .Trymto use less plastic. If possible wash and reuse it.

What to do with all the Garbage ? Residents and citizens do not want to S segregate the waste too . It’s easy if we segregate food waste , organic waste like vegetables and meat and all the plastics at source itself.

Good job... This is a menace witnessed in most places... To save a small expense these people create unowned waste which will grow and grow... Unowned waste usually gets no attention and keeps rotting... Self awareness and individual responsibility seems confined to own premises... Penalties must be increased and public must be rewarded for reporting...
