Jun 24: 11 Covid cases reported in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi adds 3

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 24: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, Jun 24, reported eleven new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered three cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,855 out of which 43 are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,851.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Three corona cases were reported on Jun 24, the total active Covid cases are 10. Two patients were discharged from hospital on Friday.

Udupi taluk reported 2 cases while Kundapur added 1 case.

A total of 10,87,837 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,75,481 have received both doses and 91,111 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
