Mangaluru: Man electrocuted while plucking mangoes from tree

Mangaluru, June 24: In a tragic accident, a man was electrocuted while he was plucking mangoes from a tree in Ullal here on Friday, June 24.

Mohammed Ilyas is the deceased person.

It is said that Ilyas was exposed to electric shock when he climbed the tree and iron hook of the stick he used to pluck mangoes came in contact with a live electric wire that was passing by the tree branches and he died on the spot.

    Sad .why they have not cut the branch of tree which passes the tree or near ?Now in Monsoon ,tree will be not dry but but wet ,wire must be touching the tree .And iron hook must have touched wire and that was his last plucking feel very sad for the boy How old is he? I see him without shoes too.One has to be careful.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathys to his family.

    Maybe he was a bit careless ...using iron stick when there is a electric line passing nearby to pluck mangoes. Om Shanthi to the departed soul.
