July 1: Dakshina Kannada reports ten Covid cases, Udupi adds four infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 1: Dakshina Kannada on Friday July 1, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 4 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,823 out of which 51 are currently active. Eight patients were discharged on July 1.

No deaths were reported on July 1. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority. Positivity rate is at 1.49 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As many as 4 coronavirus cases were reported on July 1. The total active Covid cases are 21.

A total of 10,88,572 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,77,600 have received both doses and 1,01,440 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported 1 case while 3 cases were reported from Karkala. No cases were reported from Kundapur.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
