Bantwal, Jul 4: There was heavy rain in Bantwal taluk on Monday. The level of water in Netravati river has risen. As rain has been pounding in the ghat areas, the flow of water has gone on Monday evening.

The river which was flowing at the height of 5.2 metres has increased to 5.5 metres as rain increased. It was flowing at a height of 6.5 meters in the evening.

Damage due to rains was reported at several places. One house was damaged at Navoor. The compound wall of another house also collapsed at Kedila.
