Mangalore: Labhu Ram New SP of Dakshina Kannada District

Mangalore, Mar 22: Labhu Ram has been appointed as superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada district and replaces Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao.
Rao has been transferred as the superintendent of police of internal security division. Labhu Ram is an IPS officer of 2004 batch and had joined the Dakshina kannada district for his field/practical training in 2006. He has also served as in-charge superintendent of police, Udupi district and also as Hassan SP among other postings.
Hailing from Barmar district of Rajasthan, he joined the Indian Police Service in the year 2004 after writing the UPSC examination in 2003. He cleared this exam in his first attempt and joined for training at Mussoorie (Uttaranchal) in September 2004. After undergoing 10 months of basic training at the Sardar Vallabbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad he was allotted to the Karnataka cadre and accordingly posted to DK district to pick up the basics of field policing.
Labhu Ram is a BSc graduate and also has done a diploma course in general nursing.
