Mangalore: Conference on Strategizing Innovative Business Models at SJEC Inaugurated

Mangalore, Mar 24: The national conference on Strategizing innovative business models was inaugurated at the conference hall, mechanical engineering block of the St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor here on Thursday March 24.
Jayanth Nadiger, trade commissioner of belgium of South India and Aryabhata award Winner 2009 delivered the keynote address. In his address, he said the companies should build on focus and differentiation to implement thestrategies and also that the essence of the strategy should be what not to do.
Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza presided.
In his presidential remarks he emphasized on the role of innovation in the tough economic times. He stressed on changes in the organizations methods with the right value systems also that the innovative processes should not restrict the poor within its boundaries in India.
Fr Valerian D'Souza, director, SJEC, Fr Joseph Lobo, director designate, SJEC, Fr Henry Mascarenhas, assistant director, SJEC and Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, principal, SJEc were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said that the strategy should be a clear vision of the road ahead as to where to go and where not to.
As part of plenary session, Dr Francis Cherunilam, professor, School of Management, Coachin University of Science and Technology, Coachin spoke on topic, Challenges of educational or management institutes to foester innovation, while Prof B V Raghunandan spoke on the topic, Application of innovative business models in energy management.
In the afternoon session, Dr T G Vijaya, professor, human resource management, PSG Institute of Management Coimbatore, Tamil Madu will speak on Roles and challenges of social organizations to thrive innovation with Dr yashavantha Dongre, registrar, Vijayanagara Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary giving a talk on Social entrepreneurship - Challenges and innovative applications.
Delegates will present papers in the later sessions in the evening on Service Sector at the conference hall and Education and Entrepreneurship at the Bethania Hall.
On Friday March 25, Plenary session on the topic, Event managemnt and advertising - Key innovative applications will be delivered by Sudhir P Ghate, chairman, Magnum Intergrafiks Pvt Ltd and Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, managing director and chief executive officer, Manipal-Ace Event managemnt Co Pvt Ltd. Later, there will be paper presentation by delegates on topic Health and environment.
