Udupi, Mar 25: Newly-appointed SP Dr Ravikumar Y S has warned that those engaging themselves in moral policing by taking law into their hands will be booked under IPC section of non-bailable offences, said.

Dr Ravikumar who was transferred from Bhadravati assumed the charge of SP here on Friday March 25, while addressing the media persons, said that everyone has the right to protest for justice in democratic governance.  But if anyone or a group is found to be engaged in moral policing, they will be booked for causing public disorder by police department.  Such cases will be mercilessly dealt with, said SP Dr Ravikumar.

He further said that the law and order across the Udupi district is in control and assured to better it even more in his tenure.

The naxal menace in the district has decreased to 90 percent as there have been few instances of naxal leaders who have visited remote household families and tried to threaten them in order to co-operate in their armed struggle, added Dr Ravikumar.

The mobile patrols will be increased during the night in town to curb rising cases of burglary and petty crimes, stressed Dr Ravikumar.

Acting SP Venkateshappa, DySP Jayant Shetty, Kundapura ASP Rama Nivas welcomed the newly-appointed SP Dr Ravikumar. It can be noted that Dr Ravikumar had studied PUC at Poornaprajna Pre-university College, Adamar, here before pursuing further studies.

Moral policing in Karnataka by the unemployed goons made international
    headlines. They did the free
    roaming because the state
    administration winked their eyes.

    What Dr. Ravikumar has stated
    emphatically
targeting the fake moral police is
a great relief to the general
public so that young and old can
    openly talk to their classmates
    and neighbours of the opposite
sex without the fear of torture and
    physical abuse.

Dr. Ravikumar, wish you every success in your efforts to curb Moral Policing by unemployed, uncivilised, illiterate goonds of some dirty organizations under the blessing & protection of political leaders and political parties. Hope readers knows which party is the Godfather of these uncivilised goondas.

Brave statement. We'll wait and see if those taking law into their hands would be booked under IPC section of non-bailable offenses. Police in many cases use sections that are "lose" due to political pressure. Get ready for an early transfer, SP Dr. Ravikumar!

In stead of protecting common man the police force is more and more used for giving protection to terrorists like Kasab, corrupt politicians, lovers celebrating Valentine Day and pub goers.
