Puttur: Mescom powerman electrocuted while cutting tree branch

Puttur, Jul 13: A Mescom powerman was electrocuted while cutting down the branch of a tree in Parpuncha of Kumbra on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased powerman has been identified as Basavaraj (26). 

He was employed with the Mescom Kumbra branch. He came in contact with a live wire while trimming a tree branch in the area. 

Hailing from Bagalkot, he was working for Mescom for a while.

    Very sad.People who work in this branch should know about safety methods and how to work.Still happened.People dont neglect because you know dangers.Your life is important .Wear handschuh when working with electric wires around :Heartfelt sympathy to his family.One should cut branches not in rainy season but when dry time.May his soul rest in time.

    Oh god.....May the reposed soul of this gentleman rest in peace....My heartfelt sympathies are with his family feel lives of such employees always at danger. They have no rest during monsoon (later also). When we see them around doing our area work/street poles/house problems lets show sympathy for them....speak few good words with them....lets appreciate their work. If possible, lets give something to make them happy. I am seeing in my own eyes their work. May god protect them and bless them abundantly.....These are not like govt officials sitting in the office and not attending on their duty....

    Very sad incident... These people risk their lives in the service to citizens... However much task safety is observed freak accidents can cause casualties in electrical field... Most dangerous and unpredictable being live transformers handling... RIP to the departed soul... I only hope Govt will suitably compensate his bereaved family...
