Mangaluru: Four arrested for plotting dacoity of affluent, businessmen of city

Mangaluru, Jul 16: The Bunder police arrested four persons for allegedly plotting to loot the affluent people and businessmen of the city.

The arrested accused are identified as Anish Ashraf Maya (24), a resident of Kudroli, Sheikh Mohammed Harris Jigar (32) of Bhatrekere Bajpe, Mohammed Kais (26) of Kasba Bengre and Mohammed Kamil (33) of Kudroli. Two more accused Chotu and Abdul Khader are absconding.

Bunder police raided a vacant yard behind Mohiuddin Mosque on the afternoon of Friday, July 14. They found the six accused possessing lethal weapons while two escaped from the spot.

When the police subjected the arrested to medical examination it was confirmed that they had consumed ganja. All the four are known rowdy sheeters.

Bunder police are investigating further.

    high inflation, unemployment and most importantly marginalisation of minorities are the reason for such kind of behaviour of able youngsters who otherwise could have served in Indian armed forces...with the physical strength they have because of the special meat they eat
