Bantwal: Infuriated man attempts to kill woman for not messaging him

Bantwal, Jul 16: An infuriated man barged into the house of a woman and attempted to kill her as she failed to message her. This incident that happened at Paravarakodi, Pilimagaru under the Bantwal rural police station limits has come to light.

Latha, wife of Pilimogaru resident Umesh who was injured in the assault is undergoing treatment.

Ramesh, a resident of Pallipadi who is the accused is absconding. Ramesh, who is related to Latha, used to frequent her house. He used to call up and send messages with the people of the house. Umesh who got wind of it started hurling expletives at his wife and asked her not to call Ramesh.

Ramesh who came to Latha’s house, asked her why she did not message or call him. While Latha explained the reason to him, Ramesh hurled expletives at her and attempted to touch her inappropriately. When Latha warned him that she would tell her husband he brought a knife from inside the house and tried to stab and kill her.

As soon as Latha raised an alarm, her brother-in-law Prakash and mother-in-law Kusuma rushed to her rescue following which Ramesh fled. The injured Latha was admitted to a hospital. Rural station police are on the lookout for Ramesh.
