Mangalore, Mar 28: The high alert and round-the-clock vigilance, which had been put in vogue all over the coastal belt of the country about a month back in the backdrop of World Cup cricket matches, continue to be kept in the local port and the airport.

High alert has been sounded at all strategic points in the country including ports and airports. Police sources said that the personnel of the Coastal Protection Force, Coast Guard and civilian police personnel have been continuously engaged in the task of vigilance.
Security has been beefed up further in the port and airport here. It is learnt that security at Karwar post has also been tightened.
