Karkala: Silicone block used to burn bodies stolen from Hindu crematorium

Karkala, Jul 17: In a bizarre theft reported from Kariyakallu Hindu crematorium under the limits of Karkala town municipality, thieves stole the silicone block that is used while consigning the mortal remains to flames.

The incident took place on June 16.

There are four silicone blocks which are used during the cremation process. Out of this the thieves have stolen one block.

    Oh,there is someone who knows the know how about burning body and wherebaout the crematorium.Keep a close watch in here.No cctv?I thought silicon shouldnt be burnt.Against health problems.OK not meine problem .

    Even dead bodies and their Souls are left to remain restless in BJP era ! Never ever in India's history the people have gone so frustrated or helpless to steal the Silicon block which being used to burn dead bodies. It shows peoples down trodden living conditions. so sickening.

    The block material is not Silicone but Silicon carbide which is used in furnaces!

    I don't know if someone knows what silicone in pure form is. I certainly do not know. What I know is that sand (silicate) is a compound of silica. I think the stolen stone is a sandstone. That's all. Much ado about nothing.
