Udupi, Jul 18: A complaint is filed in CEN crime police station of the city accusing a person, who works as a salesman in a travels company of cheating the owner of the company to the tune of Rs 14.76 lac by using ID and password.

According to details, victim of this fraud, Rudolph D’Souza (44), resident of Banglegudde Kukkundoor had taken franchise for train and air travel booking from TBO Tek company Skyline Enterprises of 2018-19 fiscal. The company had given him user ID for the same.

In end of April 2022, Rudolph got a call from TBO Tek company which said that they have paid an amount of Rs 14,76,284 to his ID and asked him to return the same immediately. However, Rudolph had not use the user ID of that company for past two years. A person who used to work as salesman in his company had stolen the user ID and password and got it reset through another man.

The fraudster made TBO Tek believe that he is Rudolph and used the money sent by TBO Tek for his personal use and caused loss to Rudolph.

CEN police are investigating further.
