Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Hoisting of Tricolour compulsory in Karnataka madrasas

Bengaluru, Jul 19 (IANS): The Karnataka government has made it mandatory for the madrasas to hoist the national flag on the occasion of celebration of 75 years of Independence for six days from August 11 - August 17.

The Education Department has been asked to implement the programme effectively by the government.

The government issued the order and the Commissioner of Public Instruction Department will chalk out ways to implement the order in letter and spirit, said sources in the Education department on Tuesday.

The Block Education Officers (BEO) will monitor hoisting of the flags at the grassroots level in the state. Separate orders will be released soon by fixing responsibilities by the department, said the sources.

The state government has stated that in the backdrop of celebration of Azadi Ka Amit Mahotsav, schools, colleges and madrasas should hoist the Tricolour in the premises and on the buildings.

The state education department has been told that those who get government facilities should follow the rules and regulations and there should not be any reason or pretext not to hoist the Tricolour. The rule will also apply to the government, aided, private and unaided schools, colleges, educational institutions and madrasas.

The direction has also been given for all teachers and non-teaching staff to hoist the national flag on their residences. The government has directed a competition of singing patriotic songs, essays, quizzes and drawings for the students.

Idiotic ! Being an Indian it is our duty to respect our National flag. Why Madrasas need to hoist the flag. Its a place for learning their religious & cultural values and impart knowledge as to their faith and belief in the religion. Tomorrow these Sangees/RSS (Hindutva minded guys) may bring Christian Churches or religious institutions to hoist national flag. Day by day their viscous, Irrational brains are moving down where actually their righ place should be. First of all take action on Eshwarappa who degraded and insulted our Tri coloured flag and wanted to raise Saffron Shawl instead of Tricolour. Why BJP nuts are not make use to tighten (bolts)

those who disrespect the national flag, whether it is on Independence Day or Republic Day, or any other day of the year, are unIndian, and traitors to the country they live in, whether they are madrasas or madrassees, temples or mosques or churches or darghas, so long a they live in India they have to respect national flag and there is no excuse. Even the Catholic churches and mosques in Canada hoist the natinal flag or keep it on the pedestal within the church during service and the national anthem (in English and French) is sung. Indian High Commissions hold a special ceremony on those two important Indian national days and Indians whether they are Canadians or not, attend those flag hoisting ceremonies as far as they are able to do so. JaiHind!
