Mangaluru, Jul 23: Former minister Ramanath Rai on Saturday July 23, urged the government to conduct a judicial enquiry against K S Eshwarappa for his involvement in the contractor Santhosh Patil suicide case.
Speaking at a press conference, he shared that the prime matter of discussion was to rethink on how a clean chit had been given to Eshwarappa, whom the deceased had implicated to be the cause for his drastic step. He said, “The death note regarded as the dying declaration, consisted of the truth of the matter. The clear emphasis of matters pertaining to his decision owing to not have received the money that was to be given to him.
“His family was in mourning and this decision has of aggravated the situation. Their long wait for justice has ultimately given them greater misery. As Eshwarappa has been given a clean chit now, the hopes of the family members has been lost. He has presented us with an instance where truth has succumbed to false and injustice has emerged triumphant. We request that the matter be reinvestigated and we strongly believe this decision has come out owing to monetary gains,” he said.
He added that former minister KJ George was given clean chit back then, but the decision was giving out by the CBI and all by fair means.
“Some people claim that justice is for truth, but here ironically, justice has been done to falsehood. We strongly oppose this decision and I request the government to revisit the matter and conduct a judicial enquiry on it. Corruption rooted itself in the ruling party for a very long time and this decision is a testimony to the fact that corruption is visible in the ruling government,” he said.
He also demanded Rs 25 lac to family of Masood who was hacked to death at Sullia.
