Har Ghar Tiranga: Karnataka aiming to hoist 1 crore flags

Bengaluru, Aug 9 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed officials to make the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to mark the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' a success.

"It is intended to hoist the flags on more than 1 crore homes in the state," a release from the Chief Minister's Office on Monday stated.

The distribution of flags is underway.

"He has instructed officials to hoist the flags on August 13 to create a festive mood to commemorate Amrit Mahotsav," the release said.

Bommai also chaired a video-conference organised to review the arrangements of the campaign.

He has directed officials to carry out the campaign with passion and respect for the country.

He suggested that officials must work towards celebrating the event in a meaningful way.

Meanwhile, Bommai has directed the Chief Secretary to conduct another round of meeting with the district administrations.

He also said that to commemorate the Quit India Movement, freedom fighters must be felicitated at their homes in the respective districts between August 9 to 14.

Whenever the question of national, anti national, patriotism, flag or nationalism is talked about, we reach out for our Tagore. For him, idea of a nation and a national community was ---Opening lines --- “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high Where knowledge is free Where the world has not been broken up into fragments By narrow domestic walls Where words come out from the depth of truth ------ Not reproduced in full-- can be checked ---- What is important is-- Rights of freedom, dissent, egalitarianism, secularism and multi-cultural India.--Languages -- Customs-Free movement within country--

All of a sudden BJP has developed love for tricolour as until recently they wanted to replace it with saffron flag as one of BJP ministers said it publicly. Hoisting a tricolour flag infant of your house doesn't make you a patriot.

Tiranaga feeling should come from the soul and not by force. This is a trick from BJPeee to divert the attention of people towards NATIONALISM. The same mentality of HITLER to get the NAZI support just attack on PEOPLES' emotions and make them your weapon to rule. People will forget their day-to-day grievances due to the high price rises on an everyday basis and not be able to voice against them. everything CHANGASI. any problems come, BLAME TO CONGRESS AND PAKISTAN and they do not dare to blame china as chine lending the money to the poor people by APPS. This finance lady is sleeping in the deep dark night. FOLKS and BHAKTHAS - GOOD NEWS!!!! SILLY SOULS are selling PORK and BEEF at discounted prices. The speciality of this restaurant is that the CHEF is a Dead Man or GHOST who is invisible and appears at night to entertain the guest.

Just because anyone does not fix tricolor on his house does not mean that he is not a patriot... When we were young we had no such diktats... We used to all go to Ajjarkad Grounds for flag hoisting and eating Laddus being distributed later... There used to be solemn respect for the national flag and brotherhood among people... Today we are staring at a gimmicks based govt and extend our heads for its TOPIs again and again... Hoisting flags is fine but people must be careful not to litter them around later... If such a thing happens govt is solely responsible for any disrespect arising out...
