Mohd Tanseer Wins Top Honours at Raymond's Bodybuilding Contest

Mangalore, Apr 10: It was a display of sheer muscle power and strength as bodybuilders from in and around the district vyied for top honours in a bodybuilding contest.
The competition, organized by the South Canara Amateur Bodybuilders Association, was held at Ravindra Kala Bhavan, University College on Sunday April 10.
The event was held to mark the 14th anniversary of the association and Raymond’s Gym.
The competition was held in four categories based on the height of the competitors. Ashraf Moodbidri and Shivshankar Madivala, Bajagoli won the first and second places, respectively, in the first round, while Kishan Devadiga, valencia, was declared winner of the second round and Chetan Ullal the runner-up. In the third round, it was Ashif Kuttar who won the top prize, Pradeep, BC Road came second. The fourth and last round saw Mohd Tanseer, Thokkotu and Mithun, BC Road bagged the first two places, respectively.
Mohammed Tanseer was the star of the evening, winning both the 'Raymond’s Classic 2011' and 'Champion of Champions' titles. Ashraf Moodbidri was declared the most muscular.
The awards comprised both certificates and medals.
Retired physical director of Kasturba Medical College and Raymond’s coach M S Kumar lighted the lamp and formally inaugurated the programme. B Mahesh Kumar Kodikal, secretary of the association and others were present.
The competition was enjoyed by a large number of youths who were present at the venue well in advance.
N C Manu Bantwal and Jude Noronha compered the event.
